Information

The Institute of Mathematical Sciences – ICMAT is a joint research center of the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research – CSIC and three Madrid universities: UAM (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), UC3M (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) and UCM (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). In 2011, ICMAT was awarded one of the Severo Ochoa Excellence Prizes.

ICMAT’s building was inaugurated in 2011. It is located on Cantoblanco Campus of UAM, and is connected by an on-campus train station to downtown Madrid and Madrid-Barajas-Adolfo Suarez International Airport.

How to reach the ICMAT’s building?

By train: Take the RENFE Cercanías train C4 line (either Alcobendas direction or Colmenar Viejo direction); trains are usually named by its final destination. Get off at Cantoblanco Universidad station and go straight ahead Francisco Tomás y Valiente St. ICMAT’s building is at the end of this street just on the intersection with 13-15 Nicolás Cabrera St.

By car: The easiest way to arrive by private transport or taxi is through the UAM Northern access, via M-607 dual carriageway (from Madrid to Colmenar Viejo) combined with M-616 road (from El Pardo to Alcobendas). Once you get into the Cantoblanco Campus, follow Erasmo de Rotterdam St. on the left direction, turn right on Newton St. and then take the first turning on the left, which is Nicolás Cabrera St. There are parking facilities at the end of the street.
