The number theory research group at the ICMAT studies arithmetic problems with an interdisciplinary point of view, using techniques from harmonic analysis, combinatorics, probability theory, algebraic geometry, ergodic theory or even theoretical physics. We are interested in several questions concerning applications of harmonic analysis to additive combinatorics, study or rational points on varieties, Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture and equivariant Tamagawa number conjecture, p-adic analysis and Arakelov theory.

The group is collaborating with the Autonomous University of Madrid for the weekly study group and periodically organize seminars on several number theoretical subjects.

The members of the group enjoys several national and international collaborations with researchers of other universities and institutes and promote exchanges.

If you are willing to visit to ICMAT, please contact one of the members for more information.
