- Summary: Do you know Carmen Martínez Sancho, María Capdevila D’Oriola, María Andresa Casamayor? If the answer is ‘NO’, we invite you to participate in this workshop where we will explore the stories of these and other Spanish mathematicians who broke barriers and changed the mathematical world of their time.
We will learn about their lives, their professional achievements and the impact of their work on science and society. In addition, we will be holding an interactive competition in which students will be able to answer questions about these women and about mathematics in real time using their mobile phones. There will be a prize for the most correct answers, so pay close attention!
11 February, International Day of Women and Girls in Science
The ICMAT celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, joining the campaign ‘Todas hacemos ciencia’ of the Deputy Vice-Presidency for Scientific Culture. The objectives are to give visibility to the role of women at all stages of scientific careers and to promote interest in science among the younger public.
