The Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) is socially committed to the popularization and dissemination of mathematics. One of the goals of the center is to raise awareness of the beauty and usefulness of mathematics through an on-going dialogue with society, bringing topical issues on science and mathematical culture before general audiences.
ICMAT participates in international outreach programmes such as Science Week and Researchers’ Night, welcomes school groups to its headquarters, collaborates with other institutions and designs its own outreach activities.
